Many estate agents turn to MPL Interiors when they want to appeal to a specific part of the property market, knowing that their interior scheme, corporate identity design and even their choice of furniture should reflect their target client. For Copperstones - an estate agent in North London - the brief was to make its Edgeware Road office appeal to international buyers, investors and developers. We were quick to suggest the bespoke route for a truly individual
office refurbishment. Perhaps the most memorable aspect was the custom-made carpet, that was chosen to reflect the agent’s favourite clients. The stripes provided such a design statement that the material was even taken up the wall in one area, cleverly masquerading some hidden storage. Our brief saw us create private meeting rooms and open plan areas across three floors that, unusually, included an external terrace area on the roof of the
building where staff could hold informal meetings. The walls were decorated with custom-printed office wall art, depicting international landmarks that would resinate with its global client base. Special emphasis was also given to the refurbishment of the kitchen, which is on show to branch visitors. Rather than blend it in, the client requested a bold, bright design statement.
