MPL Interiors was asked to replan Delta Global Source’s office layout to create a new division of space, increase the square footage and retain some existing features.
To get the most from this commercial refurbishment, we suggested then implemented an office furniture audit. This enabled us to identify broken, dated or unfit for purpose items in order to specify new office desks and chairs to fit a modern, agile way of working.
MPL Interiors fitted a new reception area with a high impact feature wall. Also home to a new LCD screen, the wall was clad in wood laminate panels installed with shadow gaps back filled with LEDs for a geometric lighting effect. A bespoke banquette seating area was specified, along with a glass fronted reception office, a new quality control office and a new design office.
On the first floor a number of smaller offices were consolidated to form one large main office. Extra space was gained by remodeling an area above the warehouse – made fit for office inhabitation with new ceilings and a mezzanine configuration. The layout was further rearranged for a smarter use of space, with glass partitions and panels used to create three new directors’ offices and a boardroom.
Nods to current interior design trends can be seen throughout, with statement wallpaper and floor coverings reflecting the geometric lines seen on the ground floor. Wall art in the form of individually-mounted letters spelling out the company name and a number of additional mounted screens add interest.
This eight week 4,500 square foot commercial refurbishment took into account the provision of air conditioning/comfort cooling, new power and data supplies, new lighting, new floor coverings and a number of new ceilings. We also adapted a number of retained work surfaces, created designs for bespoke items and provided complementary office furniture.
