Credential estate agent is a returning client, with a single office in Tooting, London. MPL was asked to create the outgoing office’s interior design more than a decade ago, with 10 years elapsing, it was time for a revised look.
The client requested the dated, corporate look to be replaced by a warmer, more approachable aesthetic. Although the corporate shade of blue was to be retained for brand consistency, the client was happy to drop the red accent colour. There was also a request to create a new and improve customer waiting area.
MPL had an advantageous head start at this Tooting branch, having already worked at the premises. We recalled our previous layout drawings and set to work on replanning the space to accommodate a new waiting area.
We were asked to schedule our works for the office’s close down between Christmas and New Year, giving us an unobstructed block of time to install all the new fixtures, fittings and items of furniture.
The new waiting area now has a smart living room atmosphere. Changing trends have been reflected by taking Credential’s old shade of blue – an almost cobalt hue – and replacing it with navy. This richer, more sophisticated shade was used to decorate the new timber slat wall treatment.
A pair of matching sofas, ‘tub’ style armchairs, coffee tables and a geometric-design rug add a luxe level of comfort too this area. The furniture sits in front of a new, faux living feature wall with an inset display screen, with a small drinks station neatly slotted into an alcove.
A change in floor covering denotes a refreshed space for the sales and lettings team. Dealer-style desks were installed to make better use of the space and to increase collaborative opportunities, while a new illuminated wall logo reinforces the brand.
The private office to the rear of the premises was given a design upgrade with Crittall-style glass walls and Art Deco-influenced statement lighting.
Looking back to the previous interior design, wall interest came from large format, monochrome maps and posters displayed in Perspex frames. Now, modern timber slats are joined by luxurious wallpaper and abstract artwork, in keeping with the brief to embrace more homely elements.
MPL also replaced the old fashioned windows displays with ceiling-mounted digital screens, and refurbished the basement, which included the supply and installation of new furniture.
