Samsung call centre, Leeds
When Samsung decided to bring its customer service operation back to the UK, it moved into a faceless open-plan office in Leeds. It gave MPL the brief to create a practical and highly bespoke place of work for 300 staff.
This project was very much about cosmetics, displays and branding, with the caveat of retaining the existing floor covering, ceiling, desks and space configuration. The staff needed access to working examples of Samsung's products, so data and power provision was another important element, with the addition of bespoke display units and lockable storage for small high-value products.
Tasis - The American School
We were asked by Samsung to create a centre of innovation, inspiration and exploration for students at Tasis - The American School. First we had to prepare an old barn building that had been underutilised for many years so is was capable of accommodating state-of-the-art technology. Structural details and cosmetic blemishes were hidden, under floor heating was installed and a bi-folding partition added to create an agile learning space.
Samsung’s contribution, installed by MPL, included four recessed interactive touch screens set into a toughened safety glass panelled wall and two large wall-mounted interactive screens, each in a bespoke housing with Samsung branding. MPL also provided a number of storage stations and items of furniture.
Digital property displays
Samsung and MPL Interiors have also joined forces to supply and install a revolutionary new window display system for use in estate agency offices. The technology works in tandem with the property industry’s Reapit software, so an automated rotating playlist of property photographs and marketing images can be played on any number of digital screens.
