Wall to wall style
Wallpaper was used on many of the walls. Throughout are classic patterns in muted shades, with the exception of the director’s office.
Here MPL was asked to take inspiration from the marble fireplace, which has inspired the use of marble-effect wallpaper – a rich emerald green in the alcoves and a muted cream version on the chimney breast. When coupled with the velvet occasional sofas, plush carpet and contemporary chandelier, the overall look is very decadent.
Public and private areas receive a facelift
A series of 2D plans and mood boards were used to plan the new look for a series of public-facing areas and private offices. Bespoke furniture includes a stunning yet practical reception desk and micro shelves (also known as picture ledges) matched to the exact veneer of the office workstations. Small but very special details include custom-designed fireplace hearths and a one-off arrangement of floor tiles laid in the reception area.
Additional aspects
MPL installed a number of contemporary chandeliers and sculptural pendants throughout the house, which draws the eye and creates a real focal point. Also adding interest is a number of artworks for the dramatic stairway.
