The brief
Eschewing other office interior design companies, MPL was once asked to bring the group’s fresh look to a new office - this time in SE18 - with the aim to replicate the distinctive and highly admired estate agency fit out MPL installed in a sister branch. The client also wanted an open plan office with a private office and a new partition wall to screen off back-office facilities.
Our approach
Our remit included prepping the unit by ripping out the existing floors and ceilings; provision for data, power, and light; a full refurbishment and finishing service (including the installation of a communal kitchen and cloakroom), interior design, supply and fit of new illuminated external signage, the supply and fit of cable-strung LED display pockets and a shop front redecoration.
Embracing the dark side
Black is a reoccurring accent colour in this project, used to create drama, and to provide a foil for natural materials and metallic highlights. The now-trademark Acorn wood slat feature ceiling sits perfectly in the reception area, with black paintwork behind for a strong contrast. The back wall of the branch has also been painted black, and we used a black frame to encase the glass of the private office and installed wirework shelving in black to continue the theme.
